Half Lamb (deposit)

$150.00
sold out

Pricing: For half lamb orders we charge according to the animal’s net weight (the weight of meat after processing) rather than using a flat rate, or charging by live weight (on the hoof). We believe that the customer should receive what they pay for, and the producer should be compensated for what they provide. If you order a lamb to fill your freezer, why should you pay for hide, hair, and hooves? The Price for a half lamb is $15 per pound (net weight). You only pay for the meat you bring home.

The Deposit: We require a $150 deposit for each half lamb order. This deposit secures your order, covers the cost of processing, and will be deducted from the total amount owed after your half lamb is processed and ready for your freezer.

Total Cost: Because each animal is unique, weights will fluctuate along with the price. We strive to produce lambs that weight between 90-110 lbs. on the hoof (live weight) at the time of slaughter. This roughly translates to 15-25 lbs. of meat for a half lamb (lambs typically yield 35-45% of their live weight). With the $150 deposit subtracted, you should plan on a final bill of $75-$225. The balance is due at the time of delivery/pickup.
